I first became interested in acupuncture in 2001, having had treatment as a confirmed sceptic and as a last resort. I found it invaluable in helping with joint pain and with the side effects of cancer treatment. But I was also amazed by how much it helped my wider physical and emotional health. It made me feel like a better version of me.
I finally started my training as an acupuncturist in 2011, when I gained a place on the full time Acupuncture degree course at the renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM) in Reading. I graduated with a First Class Honours degree, having done my research dissertation on chronic pain and complex musculoskeletal conditions.
I have experience of treating patients with a wide variety of conditions and needs. I've done postgraduate training in working with patients suffering with and after cancer; with chronic pain and musculoskeletal problems; and with emotional problems. I also have further training in gentle needling and needle-free treatment techniques.
I chose to study at CICM because it offered an "Integrated" degree covering a wide range of acupuncture, dry needling and related techniques, along with a thorough grounding in conventional medicine. Students were trained to integrate acupuncture treatment alongside conventional medicine.
I am happy to offer a free initial 15 minute consultation, either on the telephone or in person.
